local Missions Partners
Contact Sharon Wurst or Alan Gartner for more information about upcoming events and our missions partners.
Campus Life
We partner with this Christian parachurch organization at our local public middle school by providing prayer, volunteers, campus improvement and clean-up projects, the Point Break Anti-Bullying Program, and other activities. In addition, our Journey Middle School Ministry coordinates closely with Campus Life on activities and events.
Folsom Prison Ministry
In partnership with other area churches, Centerpoint hosts studies such as Alpha for Prisons, The Truth Project, and Anger Management at Folsom Prison. Time during the weekly study includes Bible reading, discussion, and prayer.
The Gathering Inn
With The Gathering Inn we serve the homeless in our community. The 1st & 2nd Sundays of each month we host 50-70 homeless individuals and families overnight; providing a warm meal, worship, craft activities, and friendly hospitality. Each evening is hosted by a different Centerpoint group that plans the menu, prepares dinner, and eats with our guests. In 2017, Centerpoint hosted over 280 men, women, and children.
Gleanings For The Hungry
A team from Centerpoint travels twice yearly to Dinuba, California to serve for a week with Gleanings for the Hungry, a Christian non-profit. Our team packages dried soup mix made from vegetables donated by local farms, and helps with maintenance projects at the Gleanings facility. Last year, the soup mix Centerpoint packed was sent to over 40 countries around the world.
Samaritan's Purse
We partner with Samaritan's Purse, an evangelical Christian humanitarian aid organization, by sending teams to clean up and rebuild homes after natural disasters in the U.S. The volunteers take time to listen, build relationships, and pray with those they are serving. Individuals from Centerpoint also participate with Samaritan's Purse rapid response teams.
San Francisco City Impact
San Francisco City Impact is a faith-based mission that has been serving San Francisco since 1984. They have a strong belief and desire to see the city of San Francisco transformed by impacting the Tenderloin District and do so by serving the immediate needs of the community in these areas: poverty, children, and hunger. Centerpoint takes trips once or twice per year to serve with SF City Impact as a day trip or overnight, serving with their various ministries in the Tenderloin District.
Sierra Pregnancy & Health
Sierra Pregnancy & Health is a Christian pro-life non-profit that shares the good news of Jesus Christ with their clients who are going through crisis pregnancy situations. Centerpoint volunteers serve at the clinic. We also hold a yearly diaper drive and include SPH clients in our confidential reproductive loss support group.
