PRE-K/TK CLASS

Class Size: 10 Students with Teacher and Aid
For children who are 4 or 5 years old. Pre-Kindergarten (PreK)/Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is designed as a preparatory Kindergarten class. The curriculum focuses on developing pre-reading, pre-math and emergent writing skills. Games and hands-on activities are always incorporated to strengthen sensory and fine motor skills. There is also plenty of music, dramatic play, art and story-telling. Additionally, the students develop social skills through art projects, learning centers and creative projects.

This class focuses on teaching social skills, listening skills and helping children to follow directions. Academics such as letter recognition, language development, pre-writing skills, number recognition and other math skills are introduced in age-appropriate ways. This includes Bible stories, free play, art projects, finger plays, outdoor play, manipulative and dramatic play, music, and much more. Themes & concepts throughout the year include shapes, sizes, seasons, senses and community helpers, same/different, opposites, positional rhyming and sequencing. Both fine and gross motor skills will be developed as the children explore the classroom and interact with their classmates.
